“Carapace” Necklace
I found the larger beads in this necklace at Michael’s and luckily had matching seed beads and bicones in my stash. I was inspired to make a statement piece necklace because these colors together make me think of those beautiful iridescent jewel beetles!
I found many versions of this type of netting stitch necklace online. It is a pretty simple pattern to make and very versatile in what beads you can include and how to do the fringe…it helps to have a longer needle if you’re making the fringe longer!
Stitched with lime green and green iris Czech seed beads, lime green and iridescent glass beads and Nymo thread.
Pattern: Modified from “Fresh Mint” at beadsmagic.com.
Finished September 2023
Sadly, this piece was stolen while I had it on display at a local art show in April 2025.
